SERVICES
DRILLING AND GROUTING
Numerous projects involve the stabilisation or sealing of voids. Structures such as marine quays, and old mine workings erode / subside over time and require the correct remediation. Where grouting is a suitable solution, Saxton Drilling can provide the equipment, expertise and appropriate materials to undertake the necessary work.
RETAINING PILE WALLS - ODEX
Odex piles are installed by drilling a steel casing into the ground by use of a downhole ODEX hammer. The down hole hammer has the capacity to bore through both weak or obstructive ground conditions down into the solid rock. Concrete is then pumped into the hole and a steel reinforcing cage can be installed.
GROUND ANCHORS
A ground anchor is a load transfer system designed to transfer the forces applied to it to a competent stratum. Ground anchors are used in both temporary and permanant works designs, and Saxton Drilling have extensive experience in the installation of these structures.
MINI PILING
With our comprehensive range of mini piling equipment and techniques Saxton Drilling can gain access to the most restricted sites and install a range of mini pile types and diameters tailor made for your foundation requirement.
ROCK BOLTING AND MESHING
Rock bolting and netting is used extensively to stabilise rock faces and slopes to contain and control rock fall.
SHOTCRETING
Saxton Drillings team has extensive experience in shotcreting for general ground support and slope stabilisation. We specialise in the installation of shotcrete for the construction industry, and can assist in developing a technically sound and cost effective solution to achieve your ground support objectives.
PRESSURE GROUTING
Pressure grouting involves injecting a grout material into generally isolated pore or void space of which neither the configuration or volume are known. The grout may be a cementitious, resinous, or solution chemical mixture. The greatest use of pressure grouting is to improve geomaterials (soil and rock). The purpose of grouting can be either to strengthen or reduce water flow through a formation.
SOIL NAILING
Soil nailing is used as a remedial measure to treat unstable soil slopes. The technique involves the installation of reinforcing elements into the slope. These can be standard solid reinforcing bars or hollow-system bars for very weak strata. Solid bars are usually installed into pre-drilled holes and then grouted into place using a separate grout line, whereas hollow bars may be drilled and grouted simultaneously by the use of a sacrificial drill bit and by pumping grout down the hollow bar as drilling progresses.

Saxton Drilling are highly experienced in all aspects of rock blasting. Our fully trained and certified personnel will discuss your requirements with you, before designing the blast to ensure the desired result. We work with the leading explosive suppliers to ensure that we are only using the best quality products. We are able to undertake rock on the ground contracts, and can also carry out restoration and pre-split blasting.
